Josh Hambleton-Jewell from the University of Exeter in England visited the Alan Paton Centre on 2 July 2019, to do research for his PhD. Josh completed his BA in English Literature at the University of Exeter in 2017, and he went on to do his Master in Arts at the University of Oxford in 2018. Josh is currently writing his PhD thesis at the University of Exeter, in which he is looking at how the transformations in the internal relation between colour and capital access the world-system from the late 19th Century to the present, have impacted literature and cultural practice in South Africa, the Caribbean, and Britain. Josh says he heard about the Alan Paton Centre from various researchers and tutors over the years, and he decided to visit the Alan Paton Centre for his research.
